I recently moved to Austin from Michigan with my dog, Athena. She is a Newfoundland mix and the center of my world. To me, even the darkest of days have a silver lining somewhere. It’s just up to us to find it. I have been licensed since 2019 and completed almost 800 hours of education in my initial education. Amy
therapist
Amy
therapist
Licensed Since: 2018
Preferred Pronouns: She, Her, Female
Areas of specialty:
Cranial Sacral, Deep Tissue, Myofascial Release, Reiki, Relaxation, Sports, Stretching, Therapeutic, Trigger Point
What clients are saying:
Amy is a great, knowledgeable massage technician. I’ll be back.
Biography:
Amy began her journey with a masters in education and sports medicine. She spent multiple years traveling with the USA rugby team to provide mental/medical support. But while on the road, she suffered a severe concussion. She tried several therapies such as chiropractic, acupuncture, and medication, but none were able to relieve her constant headache. Finally, her friend recommended cranial sacral therapy and after 3 sessions she was cured of what ailed her for over 4 years.
Amy immediately enrolled in massage school to expand her healing beyond sports medicine. Today, Amy specializes in several modalities such as regional tissue release, active release, myofascial, sports injuries, and reiki. But her most advanced trainings lie in cranial sacral therapy and somatic emotional release (SER).
Amy’s passion for the mind-body connection begins with SER. Why?
Because while you may know the difference between being chased by a bear and being stressed at work – your body processes both sensations the same. Your body may scream ‘fight or flight’, while your mind may dissolve it as an unnecessary response. With this energy receiving no outlet, it becomes trapped as tension in the muscles. This is the very phenomenon that Amy wants to help you unravel!
She creates a physical pathway to connect your mind and body so that they can work in unison. You will relax and unfold on the table as she gives you the tools to heal – mind, body and soul.
The unanswered emails and task list will all melt into nothingness as she chips away at the tension. We promise there isn’t a better feeling in the world and there will never be a massage quite like this one. In fact, we guarantee it.
April

April
therapist
Licensed Since: 2021
Preferred Pronouns: She, Her, Female
Areas of specialty:
Dynamic stretching, deep tissue, myofascial release, relaxation, sports, trigger point, TMJ, Cupping
What clients are saying:
April is so talented and treats me like a queen. She is one of the reasons why I continue to come here
Biography:
When April was young, she stood at the center of a crowded room – the audience hushed at the brush of a violin as velvet curtains slid across the stage. Her breath slowed; the lights focused and, in an instant, she was twirling along with the symphony. As she lifted herself off the ground, she knew what it was to feel infinite. Gravity did not define her. In fact, she defied it.
April danced in these spaces for over 20 years having studied ballet/tap/jazz and kinesiology at the University of Texas. But after giving birth to her precious baby, her body took a turn for the worse. She overcame a difficult pregnancy along with a 3-day labor that left her unable to lay on her back or even walk without pins shooting up her back. She wondered how this was the same body that let her feel so free only months ago.
Luckily, through a combination of yoga and post-natal bodywork, she turned back the clock. She was able to move just as she did when she was young, only this time with a shift in aspiration. She dedicated herself to massage therapy with an emphasis on pre/post-natal healing. She also catered her work to alleviate any other associated tension such as chronic migraines or neck/shoulder immobility. Her hope was to offer mothers healthy alternatives to pain killers and make them feel powerful in their own skin.
To this day, April still dances, just not in the ways you would think. She uses her timing, rhythm and fluidity to heal and empower through therapeutic massage. Now, she welcomes you to the stage, where your body can once again feel infinite. And as for your pain, just like gravity – you’ll defy it.

Jerry

Jerry
therapist
Licensed Since: 1988
Preferred Pronouns: He, Him, Male
Areas of specialty:
Deep Tissue, Frozen Shoulder, Plantar Fasciitis, Relaxation, Sports, Therapeutic, Trigger Point, Rib muscle ( intercostal), neck release, low back solutions
What clients are saying:
"After 6 weeks of chiropractic care not helping this one massage put my rib in place for same day relief" "Jerry was knowledgeable, friendly and exceedingly effective at helping me with my pain."
Biography:
When his daughter was young, Jerry began writing her stories – some short, some tall – until he founded KingJeromesLibrary.com. He always had a talent for creating worlds that offered healing, resilience and an escape to wonderful places.
So, it comes to no-one’s surprise that he dedicated his life to hearing client’s stories and helping them to feel whole again.
For Jerry, this all began with a psychology degree from the University of North Dakota.
It was a perfect foundation to work as a counselor in the army and later, in a home for trauma recovery. But, as he witnessed how the body manifested stress, he realized that physical pain /discomfort was a big part of the mental condition – the two were wholly intertwined.
So, in 1988, he shifted his focus to holistic healing and, with over 30 years of experience, it’s safe to say that he found his niche in the massage industry.
He became known for his deep tissue, trigger point and intercostal (rib muscle) work.
His techniques, developed over three decades, are utilized in a laser focus on the source of the problem with a constant concern for the least discomfort possible, allowing the client to be in full control of pressure and intensity. Not only are her massages incredibly effective at improving my body pain, my time with her is good for my soul! I’ve brought all of my family and friends to her, cuz anyone who doesn’t see her is missing out!!"
Biography:
Shannon has always been an active person, having nearly hiked and skied every mountain in the American Northeast. But it was corralling her children as a stay-at-home mom that went down as her greatest athletic feat! With a husband and daughter who both served in the marines, fitness was at the center of family bonding and the only way to expend their energy reserves.
Shannon always held a candle in family challenges as a personal trainer and body builder in an all-women’s gym. She sculpted every ligament, joint, and muscle knowing that they were the details that danced between strength and injury. Unfortunately, she became well acquainted with both! So, in 2007, she enrolled in the Austin School of Massage to heal her body and nurture those who had lost hope in their own.
Since then, she has gained over 14 years of experience in myofascial release, sports injuries, TMJ, prenatal, and pre/post-surgical relief. But it wasn’t until her mom and sister’s cancer diagnoses that she honed her skills towards oncological massage. She cultivated a delicate touch that minimized scar tissue and released fascial toxins from cancer treatments.
So, whether you need to destress or tread a long journey, Shannon will not let you walk it alone. Should you need someone alongside you, she will see you through until pain is no longer your normal.
Together, you can feel well again. Together, relief is knocking.
All it takes is greeting Shannon at the door.

Biography:
Alejandra has partnered with Oak Haven over 7 years with her career skills beginning as a stay-at-home mom. While we know that her 25- & 19-year-old sons (who she still refers to as “her babies”) soak in her nurturing nature, we’re happy that its spills out onto our staff as well.
She chose our family environment to make her transition into the workforce seamless, and seamless, it was! With her on the team, our therapists never have to worry about laundry or working in a hygienic environment. She takes on those duties to free them up to focus on what they do best, and it never goes unnoticed.
When she’s not working, she’s usually cooking and sharing her new recipes at our staff potlucks. Culinary art was passed down from her mom and she prides herself on her Mexican and Vietnamese dishes. We’ve occasionally looked up her best concoctions on Youtube, but somehow, we can never quite recreate the magic.
Whether she’s cooking or cleaning, her warm nature is what captured our hearts 7 years ago and will continue to inspire us for even more.
